What does Med View do?
Our Medical Review Specialists — all highly trained and clinically experienced nurses with proven bedside manner— determine whether the basic requirements for medical malpractice are met.
Are you a Legal Nursing Consultant Firm?
No, we are not a legal nursing consulting firm. We are part of the "intake process" and only involved at the early stage of the case. Immediately following the initial call we either provide a "YES" or "NO" recommendation. It is up to the firm to decide whether to move forward with the case based on information provided by MVS.
How does the Med View Service process work?
Using a simple three-step process, we can help your firm evaluate for potential medical malpractice cases. Your firm enters basic information of the potential new client into Med View’s easy-to-use interactive Web site, one of our Medical Review Specialists will call the potential new client within 24 hours of receiving the intake request and conduct an evaluation for medical merit. At the conclusion of the evaluation, we will generate a report and email your firm a recommendation of “Yes” (Accept & Review) or “No” (Reject & Notify). We attach a CVS file to each Med View evaluation so firms can easily manage cases utilizing their practice-managing software, such as NEEDLES.
How do you identify yourself to callers?
We act on the behalf of our Client's firm. Our normal introduction is as follows: Hello, My name is "X" calling from "your firm." I'm a nurse and need to ask you question about the possible medical malpractice case.
What does the service cost?
The cost of each standard medical evaluation is $25.
Do we only pay for the "Yes" evaluations?
No, you are required to pay for all evaluations. The purpose of this services it to alleviate the hassle of your law firm having to sift through all the calls to determine which cases are viable. We handle all of this for you but you only pay for submitted evaluations. You do not pay for call back attempts or if a caller withdraws or is unreachable.
Can I check the status of submitted cases?
Yes. The Med View Web site will be accessible to all firms. We will provide you with a login and password, which will allow you to input intake information, check the status of potential cases, and retrieve completed evaluations.
How does the Medical Review Specialist determine medical merit?
The Medical Review Specialist will conduct a phone interview with each potential new client. Upon completion of the interview the Medical Review Specialist will answer three key questions: Are there significant or permanent damages? Are there acts of alleged negligence? Is there a link between the alleged negligence and the damages being claimed? The Specialist then completes a case evaluation form and submits the recommendation to the referring firm.
